- Mrs Natalie McNeice - Chair of Governors
My name is Natalie McNeice and I moved back to Colyton, my childhood home, 11 years ago.
I attended Colyton Primary School and I am pleased to say that my sons now attend the school in Year 3 and Reception.
My main reason for becoming a governor is to ensure my sons have the same positive and rewarding experience of Colyton Primary that I enjoyed.
Community
- Mrs. V. Bayliss
I first became a Parent Governor 20 years ago when my elder son started school. I am now a community governor. I was Vice Chair for many years before taking over as Chair of Governors in 2007 until 2010. I teach Maths at The Axe Valley Community College.
- Mr. R. Turner
I have been a governor for almost eight years, two as a minor authority appointment and then a community governor. My two eldest sons attended Colyton Primary and my youngest son is currently in the Juniors. My great passion (apart from the school) is Colyton Football Club and the Youth Football Club, which I am actively involved in. I have been a councillor on Colyton Parish Council for nearly nine years and am employed in our family businesses, which are based in Seaton and Sidmouth.

I live in Colyton with my husband, Jonathan, and our four children. Three of my children, Lily, Jake and Anna are call at Colyton Primary School. I work part-time locally as a district nurse.
- Ms. L. Wain

- Mrs. Y. Spijkerman

I am proud to live in beautiful Colyton with my partner Richard and our children Woody (7) and Lotte (5).
I work part-time as a case manager with brain injured children and young adults organising their rehabilitation, education and vocational pathways.
Through my work I have realised even more how important the learning environment is for the development of a child. I am pleased and proud to see that Ofsted has recognisedColytonPrimary School as a positive and rewarding learning environment.
I feel honoured to be able to contribute to the ongoing success of our school in my role as governor and look forward to being part of its future.
Staff
- Mrs. J Woodward

I work as a Learning Support Assistant in the Infant Classes. I have worked at Colyton Primary for more than 10 years and my children previously attended the school. I am so proud to help contribute to the school’s future successes.
- Mrs. A Mills
Staff Governor since July 2010
I am a techer here at Colyton Primary School and I currently teach in the year 5/6 class. I am also Head of Learning, Numeracy Co-ordinator and RE Co-ordinator at the school.
I am not native to Devon, but have lived here for the past three years with my husband, who is from Colyford. Living and working in such a strong community is a highly rewarding experience.
In my role as a governor I am able to be a strong link between the staff and governors and ensure that the best possible education is made available for the children in this community.
Local Authority
- Mr. R. Collier
I am a Local Authority governor and have been so since January 2008. I have one child in Year 6 at the school. With my wife, Tina, we run our own plant nursery. I am involved on both the Finance and Premises and Health & Safety Committees.
- Mr. B. Sindall
I have 40 years experience in education spanning secondary modern, comprehensives and grammar schools. I was the former Head of Colyton Grammar for 20 years. I have been involved in a number of national educational planning groups. Having lived in the area for more than 3 decades and seeing both my children enjoy their time at Colyton Primary I value the school’s place in the community.
Headteacher
- Mr. N. Harris
I am eager to make a positive impact upon the education of your children. I want them to have the best foundation for their ongoing development and I want them to look back on their time at Colyton Primary as being a defining moment in their lives.
Central to my personal philosophy is the belief that everything we do must be focused on the children and their needs. I am very much looking forward to working with you, the parents; the staff, governors and of course, the children, to enhance the quality of education we provide.
